The Ramakrishna Mission
was started by Swami Vivekananda on 1st May 1897 at Balaram Mandir (see photos below), Kolkata. He
was made the General President and Swami Brahmananda the President of Kolkata
centres.

118th Foundation Day of the Ramakrishna Mission is celebrated at Belur Math on
1 May, 2014. Revered Vice-President Maharaj
chaired the meeting and the General Secretary delivered the welcome address.
